The Empire Junior Hockey League recently approved the addition of the Elmira Junior Jackals as their 21st member team.
Former NCAA Division III two time Coach of the year Glenn Thomaris will head up the team's operation and serve as head coach. The Elmira Junior Jackals are extremely proud to play out of the First Arena in Elmira the home Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, an affiliate with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL. Elmira has always been a hot bed for hockey, producing some great professional, collegiate, youth and junior players and teams. Elmira Junior Jackals are looking to continue that tradition in the Empire Junior B Hockey league and continue with their rivalries with Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany and Pittsburg.
There are a lot of quality players in the Southern Tier of New York which includes Ithaca, Cortland, Binghamton, and Elmira looking to take the game to the next level. The Elmira Jackals are looking to provide talented and dedicated young men with the opportunity to develop in a competitive, organized, structured, at a major league facility with a 29 year great collegiate coach Glenn Thomaris.
