New Hampshire Junior Monarchs
The New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs Empire team is off to a good start in the 2007-2008 season sitting at the top of the North-East Division with a record of 15-4. This years team is showing early signs of being able to compete with anyone in the Empire League, but lacks the consistency right now to do it every night. This years roster has 16 new players to the Monarchs organization.
Coach Frew offers this about the 2007-08 team: "This group of players is unique in the sense that they come to our organization after being the top player on many of the teams they come from. They are learning how to play in roles that they may have never been asked to play before. That can be challenging. We are working on the consistency of our performance's and trying to get these guys to compete all the time. They are learning to embrace the roles that they have been given. This team has the potential to be one of the best that we have had, but they need to put their ego's aside and adopt more of a "team" mentality. I have been impressed by several players this year, but I am still looking for a few guys to emerge as leaders. We are going to be a difficult team to beat on the nights that we put it all together. I am happy with what I have on a talent level, now we need to fine tune the other aspects of the game. Most importantly they are finally beginning to understand the tradition and culture that we have, and how important it is to take pride in everything they do."
