27th ANNUAL MONCTONIAN CHALLENGE
The Huskies Empire Team enjoys successful weekend in Moncton, NB.
After 5 straight wins, the Huskies Empire Team came up short in the Championship final against the Fredericton Canadians this weekend. The Canadians defeated the Huskies 3-2 to claim the Championship. The Challenge, which features 44 teams from Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and New England competing in the major midget AAA and minor midget AAA divisions, was held at Tim Horton's 4-Ice Centre in Moncton, NB. The Monctonian has become known as one of the premiere Midget "AAA" tournaments in all of Canada, and one of the most heavily scouted. In attendance at the tournament were over 150 scouts. The Huskies own Corey Cotnoir received the MVP goalie award for the championship game, while Trevor Peltak, Kyle Demers and Ward Gleason ranked amount the top 25 goal scorers for the tournament. |
